Default painting valve cover?

If I want to take the valve cover off to be painted..do I really have to replace the gasket or can I reuse it?

first off.. Powder Coat it.. no paint!!

if u really are going to paint it.. i would do the whole process while it's off.. also while u'r at it ... pick up some RTV at u'r local autoparts store to help seal the corners of the cover when re-installing it.. just my .02

best of luck!

Hold up to heat way better..
looks much better..
coating lasts a heck of a lot longer..
all textures / colors..

hears an idea of the quality

Powder coat is the way to go.

I would just change the gasket for piece of mind.
