Possible Dumb Question
 
Im looking at getting a new engine.

Does anyone know if a:

B18C (TYPE-R) WIll fit into a 1994 Honda Civic Del Sol Si?

Please let me know what you know. :D

Same here. I just not sure if direct bolt on or possible mods or mount swaps are needed.

You'll need the mounts that come with the motor, but no conversion mounts or anything.


Real easy swap. I might suggest going with the less expensive B18C SIR-G or B18C1 though... the price on the R engines is more hype than performance.

I easily have the money for any of the engines. My main part is performance and custom aspects for the engine. The type R comes with a higher BHP but do you know if it is more customizable or tunable then the other b18 series engines or would be the same? :confused:

B18C-R's .. or B18C5's in the US market HATE boost... they are a N/A beast and should be kept that way.

Another one of the B18C's though would be a better choice, or an even better one a B18B.

But you said tunability.. if your not looking for F/I.. then yeah, the R's rock, same head as the B16A2.. so basically stuff for that head should fit ok... like intake manifolds and such.

What if, in the event of wanting turbo, what should i do. Also. Im not buying US... Im going JDM :D

Well in the event that you would wanna go FI.. which I dont suggest whatsoever on that motor, you could always switch to a lower domed (compression) piston set, and internal work.
