injector size
i was just wanting to get some ideas of what size injectors to go with. i have a JDM gsr swap with t3/t4 turbonetics custom kit, now only running 6.5 lbs. planon running 9 in spring and 12 eventually.and ill be using an apexi vafc to tune it.thank you
does anybody have any idea. i used a formula from a website to figure it out, and it telles me when i am running around 320hp ill need 630cc. i am guessing 12lbs of boost as 10.6/1 compression, i should have atleast that much. any help at all?
i am running 6.5 psi right now on stock injectors with fmu (12/1 disc) and 255lph fuel pump. the only time i have fuel issues is at about 130 mph flored in 5th. other than that i am good. as soon as i turn the boost to seven, im running dry at about 6 grand through all the gears
Sorry, I dyno'd my car last year befor I put in AEM Fuel rails, and I dyno'd it this year and since the install I noticed beter mileage on the highway and more peace of mind knowing that a high volume fuel rail not only provides your engine with additional fuel needed for more horsepower, it also helps stifle disruptive fuel injector pulsations. By dampening the pulsations created by the fuel injectors you’re guaranteed more regular fuel delivery under all conditions. Also the quote "Fuel rails are rice", makes no sence, you see fuel rails on everything high performance, from 350 vette motors to 4 banger hondas....
I guess it all depends on what he/she wants on his or her car..... More power to ya if you find a good tuner. I know all of my friends have alot of respect for me when I help them with there cars/trucks.
Also keep in mind if and when you upgrade the injectors, most good aftermarket fuel rails have a port for AN fittings and a pressure gauge. If you plan on doing more to the engine to get more power out of it later on, (HP can be addictive). If you wanted to increase your boost, but you never upgraded your entire fuel system to get the best performance out of your turbo. Your loss in the future.... I know you need to do alot to upgrade the system, but if your going to do somthing why not do it right? Voltage booster, High volume Pump, larger lines, AN fittings, High flow Filter, Pressure regulator, high volume rail, and aftermarket injectors. Total cost for a good system is around $600.00 after install and tuned. But most people dont have that much $ to spend on that, but if they ever wanted to do somthing else, like Nitros, turbo, supercharger, or just machine the crap out of the engine. Im not telling you what to do just giving you my experiences and info.
