Can't start the car, the alarm maybe the problem
 

What's up guys,
I really need your help....My car didn't start this morning and I think the battery its not the cauce of it. When I turned the key, the indicator lights all on, including the ecu sound. But then when I continue to turned the key, the car didn't start at all.
Suddenly the alarm sound goes on and I can't stop it, I pushed the alarm button many times it didn't work. I had to pulled out the neg wire in the battery. Then every time I hook back the wire, the alarm sound start again.
I need you guys help, is there something happen with the alarm (my friend mentioned about the kill switch thing)?

u cant rule out the battery, things like indicator lights and the "ecu sound" dont require that much electriciy, turning over the engine does


that happened to my car (without the alarm problem) and it turned out the battery was low on juice

just jump it and see if it starts.

It might be the starter look at the recall that skrubb posted

A lot of alarms have a starter kill... If you can, pull the entire alarm system and then it should start...

This is true and most likely your problem. Take it back to where you had it install if you want to do it fast and right. And not void your warrenty

do you have a valet switch? perhaps you need to press that in while trying to start the car.

ok...three things wrong here

the recall covered

a. the ignition switch
b. in 98-00 civics
c. on cars with over 100,000 miles on them


it's going to be a bad alarm install draining your battery or something to the like. When the battery terminals get pulled there is a backup 9v battery on board the alarm chassis, and it allows the alarm to go off because it thinks someone is jacking your battery to fug with your alarm.

sounds like the battery actually.

on vipers/dei alarms, when u pull the battery and reconnect it, the alarm automatically goes off. when the battery is low, and you start car, the voltage drops. when the engine stops cranking, the voltage goes back up. the alarm thinks the battery was unhooked and hooked back up. try jumpstarting your car. it might work.

also, an easy way to tell if your battery is drained is by the brightness of your headlights

on the vipers if i pull the battery the alarm w/ shut off...it will go back on when it has power again. it will not reset.
