So I'm stuck with this '96 LX....

and I can't do shit to it

106 hp is a joke.

sohc sucks.

so my only real option is an integra LS swap. I was talking with the owner of this import shop here and I can get a full JDM LS b18 swap w/ tranny, engine, ecu, etc. for about $3200 installed. Sound fair?

but knowing jack shit about civics, am I overlooking something? Should I give up on speed? Keep to cosmetics? Make it a system ride?

oy! :(

Buy a EX head (head, throttle body, intake manifold) D16Y8. 20hp. Get a EX tranny. I bought a 93 EX tranny for 150.
Buy a Greddy kit. :)

Dude, you have to accept the fact that the car you drive was built for fuel economy not speed. Granted you can mod it up and make it VERY fast, but it takes a lot of money. I've spent $7,000 on my B18C1 swap and it will only make me a bit faster than a GSR.

I suggest you do the swap yourself. I did and I am so happy with it. I know every single bolt on that motor now and know how EVERYTHING works. That is the best way to learn about your car IMO.

what?? dude, how do you spend 7 grand on a b18c and only have it a bit faster than a gsr. you must be puttin money in the ****ter if you can only be a bit faster then a gsr.

b18c....

is that the GSR or LS engine?

the ex tranny has closer gear ratios, and it lets the car acclerate better (someone correct me if im wrong).

i like to get myself one

I believe you're right, but I think dx/lx/cx trannys have longer gears, so they have better top end...its all a matter of choice

i wanna do a head swap too, or if the price is right, the whole ex engine, i dont believe there's any cons of it compared to the dx/lx engine
