Default needin a new motor...

ok...so my old D15B8 is just about dead...i'm gonna buy a D15B7 to replace it just so i can have something to drive...i know you all want to say go Bseries, turbo D16, yada yada...the prob is, i just don't have the time or money to do that...so my question is....what can i swap off my B8 and onto the new B7?....can i put the B8 headers/exhaust on the B7 with it bolting right up? do they use the same ECU and IM? any help that you can give will be great...thanks!

(P.S. - if anyone has a D15B7 in good condition with 40k or less i'm interested in buying...don't turn this into a FS thread tho...PM me bout it)

I believe everything that bolts on to your block now should also bolt on to the new one. Almost all the parts for 5th gen civics are interchangeable. I know you already said it buy why not a D16Z6 in there? Will bolt right in and give you some more hp to boot. Aren't crazy expensive either.

You should ideally use a D15B7 intake manifold, the ports are smaller on the CX head and manifold (it would choke the new B7.)

You need the matching ECU. The CX ECU will make it run like hell from being to lean.

If you want something that works, HatchVX's engine is a good buy. I drove it while it was still in it's old body, and it was in great condition. He probably has the VX ECU kicking around, too.
