Default Fuel injector plug retainer clips

This may sound stupid.:stupid: I'm putting a fresh set of injectors in my 95 Civic LX next week, and I'm not sure how to remove the clips that hold the wiring plug onto the injector. :eh: I looked in both Haynes and Chilton's, they don't say much, just take it off!.:wtf: Which way do you pry/pull on the clip itself? :dunno: I have some small jewelers screwdrivers, and I can see small notches on the sides of the plug where I think you would pry, but it's not that clear which way the clip should go to release itself. Can someone give a clear description of how to do it? Don't wanna mangle them trying to remove the plugs :awais: Ordered the injectors from www.fuelinjectorsdirect.com $58.96 ea. lifetime warranty. Any advice on the install other than the obvious safety stuff?

Just pry the metal bars towards you a little bit until it pops open. You have 2 on each clip, left side and right.

You use a small screwdriver to pull the left and right side of the metal clip on each injector plug toward the respective side. Right pulls of to the right and left pulls off to the left. Once you play with the clip a bit you will understand.

Simple procedure, it only takes a few seconds once you're used to it. Don't worry, if you pry the little metal clip, you won't brake anything.

Thanks everyone . It's just one of those little things I haven't attempted before and it wasn't a familiar item. Injectors came in today complete w/o-ring, seal & cushion ring ready to pop in. Should definitely improve my mileage
