fuel cell
ok...is there any advantages to a fuel cell flush mounted in the trunk as opposed to the factory tank? I dunno I was just thinking that for fun I would mount a fuel cell in the trunk where the spare tire was stored this spring......didnt know if it would be really hard to re-route fuel lines and such, also is there any weight savings?

there are only a hand full of reasons to mount one there..
they are normally smaller than stock capacity.. so you are loosing ability to carry as much gas, so they are comon in drag race cars because it takes the tank off the bottom of the car allowing for more straight through exhaust, or suspension mods...
sometimes they are added on street cars, for indipendent fuel systems.. for things like nitrous... ex: seperate tank with higher octane race gas that is ONLY pumped under nitrous use..
or they use a switching system to be able to adjust boost on turbo cars and run race gas..
so no.. as i can see it.. you don't need it

The stock gas tank is located about as low and towards the center of the car as you can get. You won't really help your weight balancing lifting it into the trunk and pushing it out back. For a street car, a custom fuel cell just isn't worth it.
