Tire size on 15's?

I was thinking about picking up a set of 15" Rotas... what's an ideal tire size on Civic's with stock suspension? I have a friend with a set of 205/60/15 hes willing to give me, they might have to work until I can get get cash for something different (or until they wear out!) Anyway, what's good? I need enough tire to keep the ride smooth... 205/50? or 205/45?

I would go with 205/50/15. You'll still be able to get a smooth ride with those. 205/60 would look kinda weird and is gonna throw your speedometer out of whack.

Back in the day, when 15's were the biggest wheel you could put on a civic, 195/50/15's were the most popular tire size. He could put that size as well, but nowadays not a lot of people use it because they like the bigger contact patch and that size tire [usually] costs more than the 205/50.

I'll stick to the 195/50 Looks nice, great fender clearnace when dropping...

195/50's are the way to go, especally with a drop.

Not necesarily. There have been numerous posts about guys in Civics and Integras using this size and having blow outs because 195/50x15" only support a certain amount of loads. Check to make sure before you buy these.

I know one company was like 600lbs per tire which = 4x600=2400lbs. Newer Civics and INtegras are about 2700lbs.

best size for a civic w/ 15s, no question.

i run 205-60-15's and love the ride, its nice and smooth, and i get better than decent cornering because they're H-rated as well.....

BUT my car is not lowered, when i lower it i'm looking to go witht the 195-55-15's which still gives a decent contact patch

205/60's will not only make your speedometer inaccurate, but also make the car significantly slower due to the taller gearing effect of a larger rolling diameter. No good.
