Default vtec head swap

I have a 94 civic DX with a few mods and I want vtec. I also have a totalled 97 EX. Would I be able to do a head swap from that engine to mine? Which parts would i need from that car to swap to mine? I would really appreciate some replies on this field...Thank you.

take the head off of your ex and, take the head off your dx, get you ecu from your ex run vtec wires. Actually you will need a P28 ecu out of a 92-95 ex, or Si I think.

somebody correct me if I'm wrong, just trying to help a guy out.

not sure about the wiring. The ex is obd2 and the dx is obd1 so it is different might need a p28 out of the 5th gen

Why dont you just take the whole motor from the EX and put it in the DX? It would be more work but more straight foward and the parts would all have the same mileage.

yea i can definatly do that but the thing is the car was totalled in the front and the block is buried in metal so i dont think the internals are ok...im going to pull the whole engine out and check it out. im just condsidering the head swap if the block is messed up.
