Default servicing the 90,000mile???

does anyone know what services are done when you take in your car for 90,000 mile service? please let me know.. thanks

I am guessing that they will want to do the following:

-flush and replace fluids
-check hoses
-check tread on tires
-rotate tires
-test drive

Thats just a guess, and I'm sure there might be other areas they would like to check out. Most of those service mile check-ups I think are not worth the money. That is only if you keep up on your basic maitenence all the time.

From a Honda Dealership website... (All may be made known through Google.com)


30,000 & 90,000 Mile Service

• Change oil & filter
• Inspect all fluid levels (including battery water)
• Inspect exhaust system
• Inspect antifreeze
• Inspect air filter condition
• Inspect belts and hoses
• Inspect windshield wiper condition and operation
• Change transmission fluid
• Inspect all lights
• Adjust valve clearance
• Replace gaskets as necessary
• Rotate and balance tires
• Inspect brake condition (front & rear)
• Adjust rear brakes (if applicable)
• Inspect parking brake condition
• Inspect all brake lines
• Replace brake fluid (vehicles equipped with ABS additional)
• Inspect suspension and undercarriage
• Inspect steering linkage and power steering system
• Inspect tires and set pressures to specifications
• Perform engine tune-up
• Replace spark plugs
• Check compression
• Set engine timing and idle speed to factory specs
• Insect all fuel lines (replace fuel filters if applicable)
• Check and record emissions
• Adjust clutch (if applicable) Check operation
• Road test vehicle for proper operation
• Check operation of accessories

According to the 92 service manual:


-Air cleaner element - Replace
-Valve clearance - Inspect
-Fuel line connections - Inspect
-Spark Plugs - Replace
-Engine Oil - Replace
-Engine oil filter - Replace
-Alternator drive belt - Inspect
-Power steering pump belt - Inspect
-Cooling system hoses and connections - Inspect
-Manual transmission oil - Replace
-Automatic transmission oil - Replace
-Timing Belt - Replace
-Water pump - Inspect (might as well replace this at the same time as timing belt)
-Exhaust pipe and muffler - Inspect
-Front brake pads - Inspect
-Front brake discs and calipers - Inspect
-Rear brake discs, calipers and pads - Inspect
-Rear brake drums, wheel cylinders and linings - Inspect
-Brake hoses and lines (including abs) - Inspect
-Parking brake - Inspect
-Brake fluid (including abs) - Replace
-ABS system - Inspect
-Front Wheel alignment - Inspect
-Steering operation, tie rod ends, steering gearbox and boots - Inspect
-Power steering system - Inspect
-Suspension Mounting bolts - Inspect

I don't know if it's different for 6th gens, but my 92 service manual says you do that at 90,000 miles.

so would you guys recommend me taking in my vehicle to dealer? or what main things have you guys experienced on your vehicles that have needed attention or replacement at this mileage?

90k on 6 gens for average cars, 70k for desert driven cars or harsh climates.

I just did my timing belt at 90k and did the water pump too. easy job as long as you can get the crank pully bolt off.....those things can be a bitch!@ once its off its cake tho!
