was there a recall on air bags before? on 98 civic lx

onebadassdx 12-03-2003 11:45 AM

was there? the only recall i was aware of was the driver side floormat(if you got the oem ones). said they would be a hazard if they were to slip up underneath the pedals.

Thats' the only recall I remember recieving. I took mine back and tried to get some OEM mats but they wouldn't do it.

there were actually 2 recalls, one was the floormat and the other had something about clogging the brake lines or something.

I think the airbag thing was with the 96 or 97 (maybe both) but the 98 had the least amount of recalls of the three.

I know there was a recall on the ignition switch, but i haven't heard of anything else.

honda1998civic 12-03-2003 06:47 PM

yes the recall on ignition switch just came out nov. 3... letter go out this month.. What kind of mats do the dealers give you when they replace old ones?

YeaItsAFourDoor 12-03-2003 06:56 PM

I got my recall last year but i never got it done yet... I don't really plan to take my key out while in drive... so I'm not really in a rush..
