I suppose that being from SD has some kind of reason to panic at the thought of a couple of inches of snow, especially if all you ever drive on are summer tires.
Again...I'm not panicking about a couple inches of snow...I'm merely following the law should it come around. National parks are VERY strict on chains when required.
