I never really worried about using special oil in my Civic.. Just bought the deals... 5 quarts of Penzoil with a Fram filter. I changed it at exactly 3000 miles, because I drove the shit out of that car, and put a lot of miles monthly on it. I noticed that oil broke down a lot, and when I changed it, it was always thin, but it was still some what clean.

I'm going to run only Amsoil in my GSR. I have a buddy who's a dealer, and got me a case of gallon jugs, so 4 gallons at his cost. I changed the oil the other day, and used a Wix filter.

I have oil for the next 25,000 or so miles... Now if I can just find a case of Wix filters for cheap..
