Going from ski's to boarding is a big learning curve. You're so accustomed to do certain things on the mountain so your mind and your legs want to do something that you're used to- but the different stance yields much different results.

I think it's alot easier if you've never ski'ed before.

For boots, check out REI.com They have deals on Salolon F20 or F22. Most of the people I know use them because they are pretty comfy.
