if you want to get bigger use a pyramid workout, 8-6-4-(2 sometimes) reps and if you're doing it right it should be hard to get the last one through the motion, it may take you a while to find the weight but dont just throw a whole heap on there to start with. and i find it nice to have someone to goto the gym with because it helps you stay motivated to go on the days you may be feeling a little lazy and you nearly always have a spot
