In my opinion, SI is race inspired and yes sedans are generally lighter than coupes but I can't see myself strapping my kid into a car seat and engaging vtec...

^^you mean coupes are generally lighter than sedans :hay: we know what ya mean...i dont think the dohc ivtec stickers take away from the sleeper element cuz being dohc is no longer a big deal and most haters always trash the vtec system making vtak this and that comments(you could take them off...debadge the whole ca...my 00 civic si is like that..no honda, civic si, or dohc vtec empblems)...haters...i mean if you want you could make the exterior look like a sedan ex is you changed out parts but still most people see a sedan and there like, '' look at the grocery getter!"...i had a 00 acura integra gsr DB8(sedan) and most people dont know there are gsr sedan's so they would try to punk me and if i felt like it i let them look at nothing more than taillights...so its the same principle...cuz most people dont give civics enough credit much less a civic sedan

DOHC-VTEC means nothing now anyway, most of honda's cars now feature VTEC and a good portion are also DOHC....

the DOHC-VTEC sticker is about as meaningless as the Si moniker, it's more nastolgia than anything else, although the labels are still correct, they just arent as dominant as they once were,

DOHC-VTEC and the Si labels are honda's HEMI, in all honesty, it's just there to drive customers to the brand.

I have this feeling that this car will do well, but couldnt they of matched it with the auto from the TSX and diteched the goofy vtec stickers? people looking for a sedan in this segment are looking for something sporty-- in other words, if you are man enough to want 4 doors instead of 2, you probably could do withotu those standard "attention grabbing items"

lose the stickers and the wing, gain an optional auto, and you have a good car on your hands

....except not

an auto would be a good choice seeing as the competition all have multiple transmission choices for their 200-horse cars...

it just makes good market sense to allow people to have an option of what transmission they use, especially when you already have one to mate with the engine.

and thats what the ex civic with the optional automatic is for.

if you want a performance car, you get a performance tranny. try buying a sti, a zo6, or an evo with an automatic.

as an owner of serveral honda auto's ('90 accord ex, '96 civic lx, '00 accord lx v6, '02 civic ex), I can tell you they're the last thing you'd want in a performance car.

i think a auto would be gay too...at least a triptronic tranny...and it cant override and shift before or at redline...should just bounce off redline when its in manual mode until you shift
