Honda-Acura.net Member Code of Conduct REVISION 1.1 - February 5, 2009 1. PREAMBLE We welcome all members, but we expect everyone to act in a polite and respectful manner. In order to maintain an open and inviting community, the administrative and moderating staff [collectively,"We" or "the Staff"] of Honda-Acura.net have established the following Member Code of Conduct. The policies stated below define what content is allowed on this site, how the forums will be moderated and how policy enforcement actions will be reviewed. We reserve the right to make changes to the Member Code of Conduct as needed. Additionally, the legal staff at Internet Brands may make changes to the Terms of Service as needed. These changes become effective on the day they are posted. It is your responsibility as a member to routinely review the Terms of Service and the Member Code of Conduct to ensure you are updated as changes are made. 2. MEMBER CODE OF CONDUCT 2a. GENERAL POLICY: Specifically: 2b. PROHIBITED CONTENT: The Staff of Honda-Acura.net recognize that part of internet culture includes teasing or flaming other members. However, when teasing becomes harrassment and it disrupts our community, warning points will be issued. 2c. PROHIBITED DISCUSSION TOPICS: The Site and its forums will not be used to aid the process of breaking any law. The list of explicitly prohibited topics includes (but is not limited to) illegal file sharing, hacking and street racing. Members may discuss the laws that apply to a particular illegal activity, but any request for direction or advice on how to violate the law will be grounds for thread deletion and/ or warning points. That means no serials, no cracks, no warez. The Staff will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or any court order requesting or directing the Site to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials. * SPAM: * POST WHORING / TROLLING: 2d. THREAD TITLE POLICIES: 2e. "NOT WORK SAFE (NWS, NSFW)" CONTENT POLICIES: Not Work Safe content is anything you would not want your boss to see on your workplace monitor. Use common sense and be discreet; just because your workplace is easy-going and lax, that doesn't mean they all are. Pornography will not be allowed on this site in any form. Our standard is simple: If female breasts or the genitalia of either gender are exposed, the material is considered pornographic and may not be posted on the Site. All Not Work Safe content must be flagged with "NWS" in the thread title. Furthermore, the [SPOILER] tags must be used in the body of the post to further conceal the NWS content. Beware -- the penalties for violating the NWS policy are exceptionally severe. 3. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: By displaying or posting content on the Site, you hereby grant the Site a nonexclusive global license to publish the content submitted by you to the Site. You also grant us global nonexclusive adaptation and resale rights over any content and material submitted to the Site. These nonexclusive publishing license and resale/adaptation rights extend to any materials submitted "for publication" within the Site, including both message board postings and content submitted for uploading and subsequent publishing within non-message board portions of the Site. We will not be held responsible for any misleading, false or otherwise injurious information and advice communicated on the Site or for any results obtained from the use of such information or advice. We will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by a member through the member's reliance on information and advice gained on the Site. 4. ADVERTISING POLICY: Companies and entrepreneurs are asked to contact a member of the Staff for instructions and the current rates on advertising and Site sponsorship. It is unlikely that you will be allowed to market your services or goods without sponsoring the Site; however, it is possible that the Staff will approve a specific item in a specific case where there might be a compelling public interest in making the service or item available to members of the Site. 5. POLICY ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS & REVIEW PROCEDURE: Members who are unhappy with a policy enforcement action are encouraged to contact an Administrator via Private Messaging in a civil and mature manner. Further disruption of the forum will not be tolerated and may lead to additional disciplinary action. Without limiting the foregoing, the following disruptions are expressly prohibited: We welcome civil discussion regarding a policy enforcement action, but there is no guarantee of a reversal. Moderators are held to a very high standard in patrolling the forum and enforcing the Terms of Service and Member Code of Conduct . Without substantial evidence of a serious breach in enforcement protocol, the policy enforcement action will stand. 5a. POLICY ENFORCEMENT - DISCLAIMER OF OBLIGATION: Please enjoy your stay here and don’t hesitate to Contact Us for help when you need it. |
