I've been working at a bank down in South Denver for the last 4 months. I knew the bank was for sale when I got hired, but there was never really any information on when a sale might happen or who the potential buyer might be. Well, fast forward a couple months and some no-name bank from Texas purchased our company and I got my layoff notice. They promised to hire on a bunch of us, but then went with a temp agency instead so they could save some $$$. It was a swell place to work, as evidenced by the fact that I get 3 weeks severance pay after only being there for for 4 months. I interviewed a couple weeks ago and got a position at another bank that pays better and starts on the 23rd, which also happens to be about when my severance runs out. It's located *a little* closer to home and seems like it should be a pretty good gig. It will be about a 15% pay raise, which ain't bad.
Cliff notes: get 3 weeks paid vacation and a raise.
...Oh, and I also bought a 4runner. I still have the FJ60 and the Saabaru, but I'm working on selling one, or probably, both of them. I hate to see the LC go, but I hate the thought of replacing the entire drivetrain of the truck just to end up losing the battle with rust.
I've missed you guys

LABARINTH ~Phat because his skin is soft and I could bend him over and pretend he was a small asian woman.~
lolol. I think it's an optical illusion. I put some bigger tires on and it still fits under the garage door. I haven't stopped underneath to see how much clearance I really have :o
Some pics just for the hell of it.
I understand branding your product, but I'm too old to have flames on my car :o
That's better
A blurry pictures of my bird-shit welds. I ran out of sheilding gas half way through welding up the sliders, hence the ugly welds. I think they're stuck on the truck though
New tires. I wanted 35's, but I don't have enough budget for re-gearing the axles at this point, so I went with some cheap-o cooper 33's instead. I also pulled all the plastic trim off the car since I don't want to rip it off in the woods and be a litter bug.

I also ended up selling the saabaru and the 60. Both will be dearly missed But I am enjoying only having one car to look after maintenance-wise, and between no car payment and insurance, I am saving a lot of money every month.
