Ft Bliss in El Paso TX. At first, I was pisssssssed cause I was in the process of getting my Top Secret security clearance so I could re-class to Military Intelligence & can't re-class while on assignment to another post. I went to talk to the retention NCO to see what could be done & she informed me that I actually got lucky. Apparantly, Bliss has transformed into one of the best posts in the Army these days.....all the housing & most of the services (PX, commisary etc) are newly rebuilt & very nice.

She also informed me that there were absolutely NO school seats available for any of the MI positions for at least 6-9 months, so I woulda had to extend in this crap-tastic place. I'm ready to get back on that side of the world where all my friends, family & the wife are at. I can start my re-class once I'm settled in there & have a much better chance of finding a school seat by then.

So, looks like I'm heading to the wild west come Oct. I'll go visit the wife for about a week & then head down to FL to pick up my "new" Harley & ride it out to El Paso. She & her daughter will be moving in mid-Dec when her daughter gets out of school for Xmas break. I'm kinda liking the fact that there are soooo many places I've always wanted to see out in that part of the country that'll be easily ridden to in less than a days time

actually, me & the wife were talking about places we want to visit from there & SoCal was near the top of the list, so we WILL be taking ya up on your offer at some point

we will probably take a week or 2, jump on the Harley & head to San Diego & then up the coast to Malibu & beyond

Where are you that is "crap-tastic"? And if you're speaking of anywhere-Europe, aside from Turkey, then shut your goddamn mouth.

Congrats on the PCS though. El Paso is on the TX-Mexico border correct? Criiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime.

LOL yeah I'm still in Germany. It was great when we were at the post that was 30-45 minutes from Frankfurt, but that base got closed & we got moved to this shithole in the middle of nowhere. Outside the base, we are literally surronded by cow farms. I just LOVE the predominate smell of horse/cow shit that permeates the air anytime the wind blows :0

as far as El Paso, yeah it's literally right on the mexico border. crime is bad but the northern part where i'll more than likely be is suppose to be alot better....we shall see
