I thought you were just being a pain in the ass. Looks like most places are a week out on filling orders. Your best bet is local hunting stores and wal-mart. Everyone is in a hurry to buy before it get's banned or taxed out of existence. The bills are already drawn up, they've just been waiting for a chance to push them through.

Guess I'll check next time I'm at Walmart. Is the only thing they need to know to fill the order is that it's a 30-06? It's bolt-action if that matters... again, sooo gun crew

If it matters to you...theres more to a round than the size :o

But for your application, just get the cheapest 30-06 :o

the caliber should be on the barrel. if it's 30-06 then that's all you really need to know.

come to think of it, you might want to get Remington Core-lokt. it's a good all around, accurate, and cheap round. and save your brass, it may not be worth much to you now but it could be worth some money in the future.

I'll try to remembers that round. And my car's positive battery terminal is brass... maybe I should stock up on those from walmart, something like $3 each last time I checked. They've got some weight to them, but not sure how pure the brass is.

I wasn't talking about the scrap price. Once-fired brass for handloading has increased in price exponentially in the last couple of years. Rifle brass is worth a lot more than it's weight in scrap prices.

    what you shooting in .454???

i love my gramps basement, he can reload literally anything, he even makes his own dies and does custom odd calibers all the time .... some of them he gets like 100 bucks for boxes of 20 ... so if you ever need something weird holla

I have a Taurus Raging Bull 6 1/2" stainless. Maybe your gramps could help my develop a wildcat. I call it .243LAW. Think of a .243win shortened to be shot out of a 1911. :o

I want to penetrate kevlar :o Mostly just for the fun of tinkering. But the idea is to have an easy conversion that LEO can use to take down armor wearing baddies. It wouldn't have the velocity of a .243 but I think 1500fps is achievable. And it just so happens that my initials are LAW.

hmm i wonder how that 454 would stack up against the 44mag my pops just got, that thing shoots like whoa

and yea thats a pretty cool idea, i dont know if my gramps would be good at that extreme of case modification ... he is good at figuring out odd one off calibers and making up rounds from common close calibers

the .454 is much more powerful than the .44mag. but the comp on the raging bull makes it the tamest .454 to shoot.

the big hurdle with the .243law is getting a custom barrel made. I could easily cut standard .243 dies down to make my own.
