Default New SOHC turbo setup for me YEAH!

Well after using the APEXi kit for a year with awesome results i decided to go bigger and sold it this week. It's nice to see so many people deciding to go sohc-t over bolton B series swaps but now too many of you guys have bolton greddy/apexi kits so i thought i needed a change.

Just thought i'd share my new setup, not that anyone cares...but here it goes.

Precision SC50: here are the specs mine is .48/.60

Precision's TA31 style exhaust housings with a 5-bolt discharge side in A/R's of .48 or .63. SC50 comes with T31 wheel with either a 2.559" Inducer and 2.121" exducer (69 trim) or 2.559" inducer and 2.229" exducer (76 trim) Available with or without internal wastegate. Each turbo comes with a 360-degree race bearing center section and a T04E compressor cover with a 3-inch inlet and 2-inch outlet. Larger T04S cover with 4-inch inlet and 2.5-inch outlet available at an extra charge. SC50 has a 54mm compressor wheel that has a 2.123" inducer ans 3.000" exducer (50 trim) Supports up to 450-hp at the flwheel with proper tuning.

Also get a South Florida Performance 1010 heat treated tubular steel mani and downpipe. Here are some pics of it, i like it a lot more than the cast iron drag/fmax/revhard mani's and the wastegate positioning is much better (it distributes evenly instead of being on just 1 runner) AND it has a 3 yr warranty

Got an earls oil feed/return line kit from a local guy and i'm hunting for a TiaL 38mm wastegate at the moment....Shooting for 280 whp on stock internals @ 12-14 psi with a 2mm thicker headgasket that lowers CR to 8.8:1, blockguard and ARP headstuds. A guy on Hondatech made 302 whp @ 16 psi with this setup and ran consistent 11's @ 125 mph+ he finally blew it up at 20 pounds.

Anyways....just thought i'd keep some of you sohc turbo guys updated.

that kicks ass...will a Tial w/g fit on that manifold? I thought you were building up the block and stuff, what made you decide to stay stock?

my WG is actually the one on the bottom with the flange for it, i decided to do a mild build (not exactly stock) cause i can get pretty good power numbers without sleeving/pistons/rods for now.

The limiting factor was the small snail...

this is great,
last week was the week of the Dohc with westy getting his chit together, and now all the Sohc boys are showing him up

That is one thing i dont like about the apexi kit is that the turbo is kinda small for what i have now, but i am poor as dirt and i cant spend money on a large one. Good luck man, your going to need it to run 12-14 on stock internals.

the guy who put down 302 hp on stock internals is the kinda guy that if you blow your engine, no biggie put in a new one... If i were you and running 12-14 on stock internals, you might want to keep an extra engine just in case.

actually that guy held 16.5 psi for quite some time and then he got greedy and upped to to 20 psi when he warped his head. He actually killed it from hydrolock and the internals kinda blew to chunks.

I think 12 psi would be easily attainable with a 8.8:1 CR and good tuning.
