Felony for racing in Texas as of 09-03?
I don't race on the street (maybe some highway fun every now and then on an open road) but one of my co workers just got back from spending three days in jail for racing. He is from Italy and says they held him for INS reasons. He was doing 115 in a 55 or some shit in his riced out Probe GT. He says it's now a felony as of september 2003. Is that true or do you think he got pulled over for something else? I'm not much into the street scene so this is the first I have heard of it.

He says he did'nt but for some reason I think there was something else going on. He has a drivers liscence so why would his citizenship be in question? This is the same guy who has "Ilegal racing" across his front windshield. Yes, spelled wrong and everything.

I've heard of the politico's here in SA wanting a crackdown on street racing. I think it stems back to those wrecks a few years back when the Gay and the Curious came out to video/dvd. Something like a dozen or two streetracing fatalities in a week or two....
still, cops are on the lookout for that shit. I'd keep it on the track, if I were you.
