Default Civic Repainted; Insurance?

Just sent my car in today to get repainted. All bodywork, dents removed and such, painted, 2 coats paint 3 coats clear and primer. I'm getting it painted black, so....Do I need to let my insurance company know about it? It is black, and I'm getting it repainted black, normally I would just ignore it since it's the same color, but since it's a new paintjob, will they have to know? And do I need to go down to the people that take the picture of my car for my insurance company?

Oh yea, i would definately have the guy take pics, in case it gets keyed, they'll still have the bad looking car pictures rather than my new paintjob pics. So I guess taking the pics would let them know anyways.

Thanks, it's gonna suck the first few weeks, cause the hood will be painted, but many dents will remain, I'm getting a new CF hood, that's why I didn't have them remove the dents.

Could they raise your rates if you get your car painted? My insurance company still thinks my car is light green and all stock. If they found out I had paint/kit/motor/rims they would probably make me pay more if they had to cover more. Right?

by law,if you have the coverage they are suppose to cover you. keep all recipts and pictures of mods. don't tell them about what you have done. wait until you need to make a claim and then they will see it. they won't raise your rates because of extra mods, but they will raise it after you make your claim.
