New Catback
I just bought a used catback off a 99 si, its a tanabe hyper medalion. Just wanted to ask how is it if anyones knows, i only paid 180 for it and picking it up wedesday. It is in good condition as well.Will post pics once i install it, also how hard is it to install if i jack the back end of it up?

its slightly different the piping is a little bigger, so you might notice slight drop in the small amount of torque your engine makes. cause my friend josh did that and you could feel the pull drop on the low end but pull smoother on the top.

since its a full catback system,..your gonna need to put the whole car on jackstands,..and i would suggest getting a friend to help because you will need a extra set of hands to do this install,..actually technically you dont "need" a friend to help,...but i highly recommend it

for a catback on a swapped motor how much would a custom cat cost? my friend told me i could gut the stock cat and get it to fit but this wont pass inspection, and i dont know if it would really work...would it or should i go custom cat?

gutting the cat has nothing to do with making it fit. You can make it fit by extending or shortening (as necessary) the sections of pipe its attatched to. Don't gut your cat, you wont pass emissions.
