95 civic engine swap
well,I have lots of options when it comes to doing a swap into my 95 coupe. I was wondering which would be the best for the money. I can get a ls motor for fairly cheap,then throw a turbo or supercharger on it. Or,I could do the gsr or type-r motor but they're $$$. If I go with the ls motor do you guys think I'll miss the vtec,or I guess it won't matter if I have boost,correct??

go with b16a2 and then supercharge it with a vortech supercharger and aftercooler...
or
go with a b18c1 and then build the internals and turbo it with like 12 PSI and get the intercooler
or
go with a b18c1 and then build the internals and turbo it with like 12 PSI and get the intercooler

yeah great idea but,the vortech supercharger is set-up for obd2 systems and the b16a2 is the jdm OBD1 92-95 civic vti motor. Now If I could figure out how to convert it,that would be awesome. I'm also an auto tranny man,I found you can make an auto shirt smoothly and take off pretty quick with a 3000 stall torque convertor.

If obd is just ecu and the plugs being different on your sensors,then....Why couldn't I use my existing obd 1 ecu,engine harness and sensors on an type-r obd 2 motor. The only thing I would need to get would be an obd 1 distributor from a jdm b16a dohc,unless my 1.6 sohc vtec distributor would work. any ideas??
the reason I need to keep my existing harness is because its already wired for the auto tranny's transaxle and lockout solenoids. If I use the type-r engine harness it won't have that stuff and would rather not try and hardwire it in.

Hey man I say your best bet for what you are trying to do is to call www.jdmpower.net and buy a complete jdm auto gsr swap from them. It will come with everything you would need to keep your car an auto. What you are trying to do with the Type R motor is going to be a pain and will cost you alot of $$$.
