GF looking at an Integra
Well, my gf is looking at a used Integra for basic transportation for a few years. It is a 92 coupe with 103k and auto transmission. The car seemed to be in good shape. Engine was clean, interior was immaculate, body looked good for ten years old. Has power windows and a sunroof but manual door locks. There were a few issues that I am not too sure about but seem to be no big deal:
- Fan stays on after the car is off but I am 99% sure that is normal for an electric fan
- Clock goes off and the door ajar light come on when the radio is off
- One speaker is out
- map/door lights are out but I think it is from a fuse
Besides that it seems go be in good shape. What else besides timing belt/waterpump should I look out for? Oh yeah, the white stuff seems to be rubbing compound and comes right off.
BTW, here are some pics, sorry for the large size.

Front bumper looks like it's been thru hell and back, other than that it looks fine. It's normal for these generation tegs to have their fan running after the car is completely shut off.

Bumper doesn't look too bad, just the black parts are faded. The front end looks really good, actually. I've seen many neglected 2nd gen Tegs where the hood, bumper, headlight, and foglights are all misaligned and stuff (I know a guy that had one, it looked like it had an overbite because the hood didn't align w/ the bumper when closed). As for the fan, older Hondas did that (90-93 Accords, 2nd gen Tegs, etc.).

The front bumper seems to be some sort of wax or rubbing compound cause it was coming off when I was rubbing. Still isn't her car yet, but if she gets it, then we will be having it detailed to make it look as good as we can.

That cars front bumper looks fine. That's only wax on there, the owner just tried to wax the plastic, it will come off. I would buy it, by just lookin at it, it looks pretty damn good.

Well, the mechanic said it needed a timing belt (figured) and that there was an electrical problem but he thinks that it is from the radio. They made an offer of $3600 on the car and the person took it. They are going to take the car to an electrical place to have the issue fixed. I definitely think it was worth what they paid.
