Default OEM Body kit

Hey, i wanted to know if it was possible to put a 99-00 front bumper on a 97 civic. Would it fit, or would it be a big pain in the ass.

WRONG...no radiator support needed...take it from somebody whose done it on their car... Honda-Pilot and I did this on my EH over the summer, it was actually a lot of fun.

you need:
fenders
headlights
hood
bumper
grill and grill molding

all the holes line up on the entire conversion except for the 2 outer clips on the upper grill. you also need to but 1" deep notches in the front bumper next to the headlights so the 99-00 bunper will fit on 96-98 radiator support. Its easy mod, just have to get it painted

Also, be prepared to drop the sideskirts to get the fenders off, and make sure you got your hood latch all lined up. I would suggest swapping the pieces one at a time, do one fender, then the other, then switch the hook, then the bumper, this way everything gets lined up. Be prepared to break a lot of the little clips on the hood, and make sure you get the 99-00 weather stripping that goes on leading edge of the hood, the 96-98 one won't fit.

and for legality sake, get 1157 amber bulbs for you turnsignals since 99-00 lights don't have the amber globe that 96-98 have. its easier to switch the bulbs while your doing the conversion...

yeah, you can mod the 96-98 rad support to fit. It just requires shaving about an inch off each side around where the grill goes.

Okay I see a lot of people doing these conversions, and I am thinking about doing it but WHY are people doing it? It is purely to be like the 1999-2000 models, is it functional? I know about the conversion from a 1995-1996 Eclipse to the 1997-1999 models because of the differences between the reverse lights in back and the fog lights in front, but why the Civic? Also, if I am thinking about putting on a kit, should I stay 1997-version or move to the 1999 version (fenders, headlights, etc.)
