Default Blown S2000 Engine

Here is a couple of picks of a S2000 with a blown engine. The owner's cold air intake took a big drink of water when he hit a puddle. It turns out the engine wasn't very thirsty.

I uploaded a couple of pics to my web site. BlownS2000Engine

We don't know if the owner's insurance company is going to pick up the bill because the adjuster hasn't made it out to the shop yet. If it's not covered, well...he's screwed.

Shouldn't his air bypass valve have prevented this from happening? I'm about to install a cold air intake on my Integra, just waiting for the bypass valve to come in... now I'm kinda nervous....

You're gonna loose power with that bypass valve.

Will I have more power than stock intake? Better question is, will I have more power than if my engine sucked up water? I do live in the area that receives the most rainfall in the U.S. At that, will i be better off just leaving my short tube intake and not attaching the rest of it?

uhh.. well considering you live in an area with that much rainfall you should have purchased short ram... that is if you are afraid of hydrolocking you car.

http://solar.innercite.com/comptech/330121.html

look for it on ebay or other various retailers for a better price...
