Default b-series tranny's

OK, I currently have a 94 civic ex set up with 1.6 vtec and auto tranny. I want to do the B18c dohc vtec motor found in a 95 integra(gsr motor I'm assuming). But they only come 5-speed. My wife insists on keeping an auto tranny. Could I use the auto tranny the comes with the 95 integra ls(b18b)????? do all tranny's that came with the b-series motor's interchangable??

Just tell her you are getting a 5-speed anyway, and you don't care what she thinks.

well,I wonder if you could use that same tranny on a b18c5 type-r motor?? I'm sure that it is the same one that comes with all other b-series motor's. the hard part is going to the ecu. Most of those cars are 5-speed's. I'de use a p28 or p30 set-up with auto and have it programmmed to my motor but Secondary intake runner operation will be lost if the P72 ECU that comes with it,is not used. so either way I'm screwed. Guess I'll have to get ahold of one of those gsr/auto's from jdmpower.net

well,I'm waiting to here back from hondata about an ecu. The type-r would be even better because of the increase in horsepower over the gsr. I believe the b18c5 comes witha p72 ecu. which will work with 5-speed only. now the p30 set up for auto would work because it has extra wire for knock sensor but doesn't have wire for secondary intake runner operation. I'm trying to see if they can figure this out for me.

well, automatic ITR would be something no one else has done. I don't race my car so don't need the 5-speed. My wife cannot drive and hates 5-speeds. I've got a show car that looks fast and I would like for it to take off when needed. just trying to stay away from boost and go all motor. I figure the type-r is 210hp with an auto I'm probaly looking at 195-200hp,then minor bolt ons such as intake I,H and E.
