Highway downshifts from 75mph // Top end power
How are the GS-R's in terms of highway power pulls? How fast do they hit 115mph from 75mph?
For instance, if you're rolling along at 75mph in 5th gear and you want to take off to triple digits, how many gears do you drop and how long does it take to see 100mph+? Since you're only pushing the max amount of torque [128lbs.] at 6200 rpms, I'm hoping you do not have to drop too many gears to push the car above 100mph.
Thanks.

why r u lazy or scared. tegs like high revs and that is where especially the gs-r power is right up there in the 2nd runner vtec. and it would prob pull from 75 to a hundred as fast as a domestic v8 or faster. i dont have one so i cant tell you exactly but it will get there quick fast and in a hurry if it need be.

I ain't skerrrrrrrrred. I'm just used to torque. Torque gets you up to speed quicker. Horsepower keeps you there. I just want to make sure (before I buy) a GS-R, that it can achieve decent highway pulls past the 100mph mark.
Guess I'll have to wait and fine out. But in the meantime, feed me more information.

These cars aren't sluggish at all, my last car before my GSR was a 12 second 70 chevelle, and the integra amazed me so much I had to buy it. Mine has pegged the speedo (150) with little effort and didn't take too terribly long to get there.

at 75 mph thats a 3rd gear downshift wiht gsr and at 75 mph thats like 6,000-6,500 which is right when vtec is kicking in from my experiance is fly like a bat outa hell. my dads got a wrx and when u get round 100 in that car the accelration starts to slow down but the gsr pulls hard all the way up to about 130 then starts to slow a bit but if i raced the rex up to 130 the gsr would win hands down

in my ls i can downshift to third from 75 then go into fourth close to 90, then i usually have to go outa fourth at close to 115, but it takes no time for my car to hit triple #'s, and thats in a LS modle, so a gsr would be alot faster, i also been 130mph, didnt go past that

I held dead even with a new 1.8l turbo golf special edition from a 60mph to 100mph then he pulled me till 110. I also raced a new svt focus 200hp not sure on the torque and beat him from a 80mph to 112mph. Hope that helps:thumbup:
