Default Ground Noise....just installed an amp.

Installed an amp over the weekend in the trunk and hook the ground wire to the bolt where the rear strut tower screws. Getting ground noise......is it a bad ground?

Could be I would try a different spot for the ground. I would also make sure that your power and ground aren't ran next to each other.

you should be more worried about rca's running next to power wires, not positive running next to ground. you should run rca's on opposite side of car from power.

That's right it's the RCA's that cause this problem. BRAINFART!!!
But maybe this is where the noise is coming from. You also might get a better response in another forum.

Find a bolt thats directly threaded into the chassis...and when u find it, sand all the paint and whatever else to expose the bare sheet metal. The ground is the most important wire coming from your amp. You can thousands of dollars in stereo equipment, but it wont mean anything if you dont wire it up right...

I used to get noise also, but it took me forever to find out it wasnt any grounding problems, it was an electronic crossover i was using.
