Choking at VTEC w/ Skunk2 cams
I just had Skunk2 cams and cam gears put onto my JDM ITR engine, but am still running on DC GSR headers and a stock exhaust. I guess w/ out the 2.5" collector, the cams are putting in so much airflow but the headers isn't big enough to collect it. As a result, my VTEC chokes heavily. My car dynoed at 188HP to the wheel w/ my current setup, losing 40HP at VTEC! My question is: Has anyone experienced this problem and if I just upgraded my headers to a JDM w/ a 2.5" collector - if that would significantly reduce the choking? I want to keep my stock exhaust, because I want to keep it quiet. =) What to do???

Also, I've heard of massive power losses coming from a clogged cat (Esp during VTEC!). You might just want to tap it a couple times and check for any loose elements. If you tap you cat a couple times and hear rattling, chances are it may be what's slowing your car down.

My current GSR header is a 4-2-1. Is there any significant differences between the ITR JDM 4-1 header and the DC Type R 4-1 header? Will the DC do the trick as well?

PHiZ has one, ask him where he got it.
What you can do is replace the stock B-pipe, it's very restrictive. There are a good amount of ppl on H-T making 200 whp w/ stock exhaust. You can also remove a bottleneck in the stock B-pipe also, but I'm not sure how.
Which stage cams do you have? Stage 1 might be ok, but the stage2s or better would probably choke out. I would've completed the I/H/C & B-pipe before doing cams.
