buying used (w/ mods)
considering buying something online that already has mods done... (93 del sol)
is this a bad idea?
and... with the mods, will it be less reliable than stock (and how much, if so... which I assume it will be)
the guy claims all mods are done by a "Honda certified master technician"
mods done are:
Iceman Cold air intake (cool air in one picture)
Reactive Performance filter with heat shield
AEM water bypass valve on intake
AEM underdrive pulley
Integra Type-R Intake Manifold
Adjustable cam gears
B&M Fuel Pressure regulator
DC Header
Tenabe Medallion Exhaust
Front and Rear sway bars
Lowered 2" on Intrax Springs
Front and Rear strut bars
ACT 6 puck clutch and extreme pressure plate

Well since the owner modded it then he probable drove it hard. But since the mods are just basic boltons the engine couldnt have suffered too much. Just treat it like any other used car and have it checked out by a mechanic.

But an Integra Intake Manifold will not fit on a 93 del Sol which only comes as a SOHC D15(S) or D16 (SI). It may fit on a 94+ VTEC model with the DOHC B16.
Has he done an engine sway to a B-series? If not, then he's lying about the ITR IM.

bah, yeah, forgot to mention that
1999 USDM B16A Dual Overhead Cam VTEC engine
83K mile on engine (taken from a 1999 Civic SI) 158K on the body - The odometer was replaced at the same time to match the engine mileage. I ran a carfax before I bought the car and only a minor accident showed up
