Default 2003 Accord Sedan and W2 type bulbs?

Has anyone tried fitting W2 bulbs, which has the same base as 168 but are bigger and are 18 watts, into the side front door lights or the license plate light? Does it fit?

I would guess that 18 watts would create too much heat and melt the lens or housing, or both. Yes, brighter door lights would be cool, but I wouldnt want to risk melting them. My door lights use the axial type bulbs, like a dome light, I stepped from 5 to 8 watts and havent had any problems yet, and they are noticablly brighter.
