Default 88 Legend @ 200,000 !

(My first post here...)

I'll probably come back to this forum and read some of the other posts, but in the meantime, I thought I'd just mention that yesterday, my 88 Legend L Coupe - which I've owned since it was brand-new -crossed the 200,000 mile mark - and the car still runs and looks as good as it did when it was new.... well, OK, maybe it's a little looser... and the clutch chatters a bit (anybody know how to fix that one? The dealer is clueless...), but when I look around and think about what newer vehicle I might get to replace the legend... I really don't see anything that interests me. I did test drive the new 3.0CL type S with the 6-speed manual transmission, but when I got back in my car, it felt much more substantial. I'll stick with what I've got.

In fact, there are only two features that I would gain if I bought a new car: a cup holder, and remote-controlled door locks. Maybe somebody on this forum can steer me toward an "upgrade" ? Anybody got a decent cup-holder in an 88 ??

I'm gonna give the ol' girl a new coat of paint some time this summer (smooth out the dents and dings while I'm at it), maybe there are some other "performance enhancers" I might consider putting under the hood...??

More when I get the chance... --PS

Welcome to HAN  That was a 3.2CL you test drove, BTW. I'm not quite sure how it felt less substantial (perhaps steering was boosted more), but whatever. Did you wring it out at all? Those things are FAST. Do you have any pictures of your Legend?

We have an 86 Legend that won't start. It was running fine. Now has had tunup. The timing belt isn't bad. Any ideas? We can't find out where to plug in the computer engine analyzer.
