Shaving Moldings by Welding??????
First of all im getting my car re painted completely because i F up the door and fender, They have SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many damn civics where i live i want to make my diffrent so i wanted to shave the moldings the guy told me at first Bondo and Fiberglass but i know that thats not the best way to go so i mentioned Welding he dosent do welding but his brother does, but his brother said if he was to weld it it would eventually start to rust the door and would eventually mess the paint job up becasue it would start bubbling and peeling. Will this happen???? And is there anyway of preventing this???? Thanks

The correct way is to spot weld pieces of sheet metal to fill in the trenches where the moldings sit. Shave down the spot welds and bondo fill the cracks. Welding requires skill b/c most amateurs warp the door panels with the extensive heat.
Doing it by just filling in with bondo or body filler will leave uneveness, cracks and/or waves over time.
