Default Idle problems...

I have a 1997 Civic with a D16Y7 and yesterday I installed a JG Edelbrock throttle body. Now the car at idle revs from 2000 to 400 then back to 2000rpm over and over. What is wrong? Please help!

Sounds like your engine is being strained by something... like... it's having to work extra hard, then it takes a break. How long does it stay at one RPM for before it changes to another? Possibly a part of your wiring snagged on something? Just trying to help. :dunno:

Sounds like coolant. Did you route your coolant through your tb? Did you bleed the system?

could be a couple of things.

1. check the IAC (idle air control)
2. check the TPS (throttle position sensor)
3. did you put the original tb back on and still have the problem?
4. pull the fast idle valve and check the spring loaded plate, it could be loose and could mess with your idle.
5. vac leak?
6. pull the ecu for 10 min or so and try again.

keep us updated and good luck.

I would try double checking everything that was touched during the installation process.

Good luck
