Default G7 EXL V6 6-speed sedan

Since it looks like Honda won't see the wisdom of building this combination, the thought of doing it myself occurred to me. The V6 sedans seem to be deeply discounted, unlike the 6-speed coupes an the 6-speed TSX. So my idea is to buy an '04 V6 sedan, wait until the warranty expires (about 18 months with my driving) and then swap in the pedal cluster-clutch-6-speed from a coupe. Surely, someone should wreck a donor 6-speed coupe between now and 2005. Any reason this wouldn't be a simple bolt-in?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Sounds good to me, and you'd be a rarity for a while w/ a '03 6-speed sedan. I would think you may need the tranny from the coupe as well, but I'm not sure how they new accords bolt up.

so basically wait till the end of this year and get your car then wait another year (or so) for some1 to wreck theirs then pay about $1000 (not to mention the price of the car or tranny) that seems like ova kill just to ahve a 6speed sedan. i would just get a fully loaded TSX now

Sounds like a very novel idea, Bob. Either the CL Type-S 6 speed manual or the Accord Coupe 6 speed manual will bolt right up to it.

Just be forewarned: The upcoming Acura TL has a very strong chance of coming with a 6 speed manual. It will definitely be aimed at more sporty intents. A TL wil cost you about the same as an Accord with all this work done.

For more on the new TL, go to the News and Rumors forum.
