Default 98 Accord Radio question, Please Help!!

Hi, I'm a newbie and I have a question. I have a 98 accord LX. The stock radio is just that, a single din tape and radio. I want to get a cd player, but I'm the kind of person that wants to keep everything looking stock, so I want to purchase the deck from the accord EXs, which came as a double din radio and cd player. My question is does anyone out there know whether the CD player will plug in the connectors I have for the LX, or are the connectors different for EX radios. If they are different, are there any adaptors out there that would make this happen? Thanks a lot in advance for any help.

the radio harness should be the same. i have to tell ya though, you're better off getting a new radio. the stock EX head unit was okay at best. also, alot of the stock ex radios do not like cd-r's.

if you plan on using the ex-v6's steering wheel remote then it doesn't work. i attempted this swapped between my 6th gen dx and ex. otherwise it works fine.

one of the head units (the one that says T-xx for CDs) didn't read CD-R's as well as the other one that i swapped from the sedan. make sure you get the right one if u plan to listen to a lot of CD-R's

I'd say get aftermarket, but if not, didn't Honda make an indash CD changer in the 01 or 02 Accords? You should get that one.

In my 2002 Accord EX-L, I have a 6 Disc In-Dash CD Player with Tape, and mine reads CD-R's and CD-RW's just fine. It's a real nice stock head unit. You just feed it 6 discs.

I think the problem with the stock head unit reading CD-R's and CD-RW's were in the 1998-2000 Accords.

If you really want a stock Honda 6 Disc In-Dash, plus Tape head unit that were in the EX's, it's $644.75 at HondaAutomotiveParts.com
