Default "crushed" BOV??

Does anyone know if "crushing" a BOV is worth while? Wouldnt you be better off just buying an aftermarket one capable of a higher PSI? My friend has a 1g DSM, and he had his crushed to support the higher PSI of his new turbo. Has anybody seen this done?

They "crush" the BOV.........in other words, they push the top of the BOV down a notch, compressing the spring, which lets it hold more PSI i guess
