Default shaving side moldings

i want to take the side moldings off my car before i paint it. i tried to fill the holes with bondo but it won't stay on without caving in. what should i do?

weld metal to it. Bondo will deffinitely not hold.

Just remeber to do tack welds and jump from one part of the door to another. Don't try to do a long seam, or you will warp the hell out of your doors. Good luck.

you can use bondo to smooth it out but you still have to weld them up first

so:

i should make small little pieces to fit over each hole, weld them, then it all down and use bondo to smooth it out.

you can take it to bare metal and then use fiber hair. stuff is harder than a rock when dry and has a fast set time. Bondo makes it as well as other companies. The bonus is that it won't crack like regular body filler if it's banged around.
