170mph Top Speed
A friends' cousin siad he did 170 in his 90-somethin legend. He said 1 in every 200 legends imported to the U.S.A were the same as JDM exept for the steering wheel and some small tidbits.
He had an intake, exaust, and 18's. He claims he did 170 numerous times but blew a headgasket once. Does this sound convincing? I'ts my good friends cousin so tehy're not really gonan lie to me and I ifnd this quite amazing that he did this. What so yo guys think?
P.S What does YOUR Legen top out at?

I have seen videos of G2 Type II cars with their 160 MPH speedos buried. How accurate they are at that range is debateable.
I've done an indicated 130 in my G2 Type I sedan. I certainly don't want to get a real radar reading when going for a top speed run on public highways.

I've gone 100mph in my 89 Legend but the steering became unresponsive so I coasted to a better speed. And I did 120mph in my 93 Legend, the car felt like it could go more but my exit was coming fast and I had to get off. After that I didn't dare do it again for fear of a ticket. But all in all 170 seems a bit high but I don't know beacuse I didn't put the car to it's limits.

i've got a g2 type 2 and the fastest i've EVER had her was 155. much faster than that and i'd be scared to drive it. It might be possible to 170 on a dyno where the car's not dealing with areo dynamics.

No way...
145-155 range at the most..
I have two articles on the Legend coupe from Car and Driver
back in 93 and 94 and the top speed was 146
in a 4 car test with a Caddy, Lincoln and Lex Coupe

Fastest ive done in my 3.2 was 145Mph it had no problems getting to 130 but it struggled a bit to get to 145 from 130 so doubtful if he did 170. as we would say here Tom Peppa.
Jan..
PS a tom peppa is someone who tels good stories but leaves the truth out..

just since it has rev's left doesn't mean your gonna get any more speed. at 158 your in 6th gear and it's not geared to accelerate it's geared to maintain speed. So once you shift to 6th it would take you an extreme amount of time to get going any faster. I'd dout you could get your acura any faster than 158. IMHO
