My 95 Accord project, bad headgasket
I just bought this 95 Accord 4-door with the 2.2 SOHC 16-valve engine and auto trans, clear title, 200K miles, for only $670. Bad headgasket, but I filled water full in radiator and it drove fine for 20 minutes.
I found I could get an entire rebuilt cyl head/cam/rockers on eBay for just $200 + 40 shipping, no core required. I thought that was pretty good. 1yr warranty on his heads, pics look nice.
With that, and a full headgasket set of around $100 from thepartsbin.com, I think I can get this engine going again nice for relatively cheap.
I had a question about re-using the cylinder head bolts on this F22B2 engine. In some pics I've seen they look like they are studs that can stay installed in the shortblock, and some type of head nut/bolt that attaches down from the cylinder head. ??
Am I good re-using the ones on my 200K engine, or do I need to spend $80-100 more and buy new headbolts too?
If I buy I'm not sure which ones for my car, thepartsbin.com had like 3 different options listed of slightly different size.
If its feasible to re-use them on a stock 125hp engine and they're not going to fail on me soon, then I need to save the money and re-use the old ones.

you should be abel to re-use the head bolts, I have not had a problem with mine yet and they have been on and off several times with 230000 miles. as far as replaceing the head, you should only need to replace the head if it is warped, not just because of the head gasket.

It is warped I'm sure, and the valvetrain sounds very worn and 200K-ish.
I need a full head rebuild, and the $200 ebay head sounds cheaper than any local shop would rebuild my head for if its even rebuild-able.

props to mizumoauto.com who had the whole headgasket kit for $35 + shipping, and fast enough shipping I received it already.
I also got stock sized piston rings for $30 shipped on eBay, when I take head off and get a piston out I'll measure and make sure pistons are stock sized.
I've also got new timing belt, balance shaft belt, water pump, etc.
I bought new body parts from Interstate auto body, bumpers only $35 and $39! Got both bumpers, grille, lights, pass. mirror, front bumper bottom-edge lip thing, etc.
They didn't have the rear bumper bottom lip, can I get that from Honda dealer only?

I ended up doing
PISTON RINGS and
ROD BEARINGS
all along with the new cylinder head, headgasket kit, timing belt, balance shaft belt, water pump & thermosat, oil pan gasket, plugs & wires, etc.
Stock sized stuff in my engine never rebuilt, those rod bearings had done their job at over 200K miles and not failed yet just showing wear, but replaced now.
Engine seems to run pretty great! I've put over 150 miles on it so far, power seems great, I think I'm getting close to 30mpg!
I am pleased with my car purchase and my rebuild job and this mid-90's Honda Accord 4cyl performance.
