Paris preview: Honda Jazz/Fit hybrid officially debuts

The electrically assisted Fit (sold as Jazz in Europe) gets the same 1.3-liter inline-four, CVT and IMA mild hybrid combination that "powers" the Insight (http://www.autoblog.com/model/insight). Despite the taller profile of the Fit, Honda claims it will get comparable fuel economy to the smaller car.In hybrid form, the Fit gets a revised front fascia with new headlamps and a different grille. Inside, the dashboard gets a darker monochrome look and probably a new gauge cluster. The last time we spoke with Honda representatives, they confirmed that there are no plans to offer the Fit hybrid in North America. This is a shame, as we'd rather see Honda dump the Insight here and bring us a Fit hybrid instead.
