not sure what exactly causes it to go bad... sometimes the solder joints on the PC board break... thats about all I know that goes wrong with it.

It is located above the brake and gas pedals in your car... its a grey colored box, relatively small, mounted to a metal bracket and has one plug.

My car hasn't started all day. Battery voltage is fine, battery connections are fine, no loose grounds. This only happens to me in cold weather when car has sat overnight. First time was 2 years ago, had to push start it. It's been fine until a month ago, but it started up after 10-15 minutes. This time, won't start at all. How hard is it to remove the main relay? I wanna open it up and resolder the connections and hope that alleviates my problem.

What does the main relay do? I seem to have a problem with the fuel pump and/or main relay. I hope it is not too expensive to fix it.
Is the fuel pump relay the same as the fuel pump itself?

What does the main relay do? I seem to have a problem with the fuel pump and/or main relay. Sometimes there is no sound when I turn the key.

Does the main relay have any other purpose beside operating the gas pump?
If there is something wrong with the main relay, will the car stall after the car has started and is running? My car sometimes vibrates and feels like it is going to stall, unless I step on the gas pedal.

Thanks
