Default Code 14: Idle Air Control Valve (check valve and system)

Anybody had any experience with this on their 5th gen. Evidently, these 170k miles are starting to show on my car.

I took the valve off yesterday and sprayed Chemtool in the mesh to try and clear off all the gunk that was caked up on it. Got all that off. Couldn't find anything else to do. I made sure the two lines going into the IAC valve weren't clogged (although they appeared to have some radiator water/coolant mix in it).

There is a hex head thing on the passenger end of the valve. Does that thing ever need to be turned for adjustment or something?

Problem: at idle, my car is revving up RPMs on its own between 1k RPMs and 2k RPMs. Does it for about 5 minutes after starting. Then after it levels up and you drive on it, you might notice it doing it again at a stoplight or something.
