Guys.. I never thought this would happen to anyone in my group, but one of my riders has fallen. Timothy Wayne O'Brien (AKA - Timotheus) was riding home from an event on Sunday, and around 5:15, sped through a red light and collided with a passenger vehicle. The bike burst into flames and he was killed instantly. Baden VFD was called to assist with extrication efforts. I did not make it in time to hop on board... and I'm glad I didnt.

Tim has been a member for about a year. Thursday there is a memorial ride for him, starting at his departure location and will end at his home.. the ride that he never finished. I hope to attend his viewing.

i ran a red light a few weeks back in san franscisco on geary street. i barely even saw the lights above the pedestrian crosswalks. d'oh.

so yeah it happens.
