Default Indash monitor installs

Wassup peeps,

i've been thinking about purchasing one of these (Alpine or pioneer) for a while. I own a 95 integra and i was wondering what people's installs look like. I went to a usual stereo shop, and they said it wouldn't look right due to the controls o the heater and the fan. Is this true? will the monitor look awkward? instead he suggested to modify a 6.5 or 7" screen and flush it into both dins, but thats going to cost a lot of money and is well out of my range.

mount the deck in the lower portion of the opening and put the pocket on the top... that'll solve the heater control problem, but maybe too low in the dash. Its all your personal preference... dont listen to what the shop says... you tell them what you want done... not the other way around.
