Default Radar Detector question!!

I used to have a Camaro and it was broken into and they stole my stereo and radar detector. It was a Whistler DE1675. I got rid of the Camaro and bought a 2003 Civic EX. I want to stick with the Whistler radar.

My question is...Does anyone own a Whistler radar and if you do...What model is it and how do you like it.

Thanks to everyone that replies.

http://www.radartest.com/ Has some Whistler models in the 2003 Buyers Review thingy.

A great site that gives some good info about some of the more popular radar detectors.

Depending on how much you are willing to spend... I would recommend an Escort 8500 or a Valentine ONE. They are always neck and neck for 1st place in most radar tests.

I would recomend the Escort or V1 as well, if you can afford it (Passport 8500 is about 300.00, V1 is 400.00 -- but they are both worth what they cost). I own the 8500, and know people with V1's and they both blow any other detctor out of the water.

My mistake on the price. Sorry. As for which states detectors are illegal in I think only Virginia bans the use of them and Washington D.C. actually bans posession. As for the rest of the country I think they are perfectly legal.

Wow. When did they pass this in the state legislation? Because a friend of mine lives near Chicago and owns one. He never said anything about it. And I know Mike Valentine will not sell his detector anywhere they are illegal. He has a list on his web site where exactly they are illegal. Check it out: www.valentineone.com

well i'll be, hate to prove myself wrong but after a little research i found that they're only illegal in commercial vehicles in IL, just like every other state... i guess they're only illegal in D.C. and virginia( they were in CT but it was repealed) guess i should've done some more research before i spoke h:
